Indications
Montelukast Sodium 10 mg + Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride 5 mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment and prevention of:
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
- Perennial allergic rhinitis
- Sneezing, runny nose, and nasal congestion
- Itchy, watery, and red eyes caused by allergies
- Chronic urticaria (hives)
- Allergic skin conditions with itching
- Adjunctive therapy for bronchial asthma associated with allergic rhinitis (as prescribed)
- Prevention and control of allergy symptoms triggered by dust, pollen, pet dander, and environmental allergens
Contraindications
This medicine should not be used in patients with:
- Known hypersensitivity to Montelukast, Levocetirizine, Cetirizine, Hydroxyzine, or any component of the formulation
- Severe renal impairment or end-stage kidney disease
- Patients undergoing dialysis unless specifically prescribed
- History of severe allergic reaction to antihistamines
- Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption (where applicable)
- Children below the recommended age group for this strength, unless prescribed by a physician
Usage / Dosage
- Take one tablet once daily, preferably in the evening, or as directed by your physician.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
- May be taken with or without food.
- Do not exceed the prescribed dosage.
- Continue the medicine for the full duration advised by your healthcare provider, even if symptoms improve.
Precautions
- May cause drowsiness, dizziness, or fatigue. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if affected.
- Use with caution in patients with kidney disease.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of depression, anxiety, mood changes, or other neuropsychiatric disorders before taking Montelukast.
- Avoid alcohol, as it may increase drowsiness.
- Consult your physician before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Inform your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking to avoid potential drug interactions.
